About Us

Who ever said that time flies was right.  It doesn’t seem possible but it was almost 30 years ago that we, Randy and Brenda Ziegler, purchased a small resort and named it Wildwood Resort.  We gradually expanded the boundaries of Wildwood and built new cabins and lodges.

Brenda’s father, J Brown, was a contractor in Baton Rouge. He worked with us, designing and supervising our new additions.

He especially loved & specialized in renovating old southern plantations in south Louisiana.  With modifications for our modern day needs, Dad designed our Conference Center after an old River Plantation.  Many of his other designs for our lodges reflect our Louisiana heritage.

Over the years we had the good fortune of having the nicest people come and stay with us.  Many of them have returned often  and become good friends.  It’s great to see many of the children returning now that they have grown up, with their own families.  We appreciate and enjoy being a family tradition.

We have also been fortunate to have wonderful and capable people on our staff.  We hope you will notice that they have a ready smile and a willingness to help you.

We like many of you are concerned about our environment.  We have made efforts for quite some time to be as green as we can be.  We have a paperless bookkeeping system to save our trees,  we use friendly agents to clean the cabins and lodges,  we recycle our furnishings, carpets and appliances.

Two years ago Brenda was diagnosed with cancer, myeloma.  In keeping with our family tradition, our children stepped in to help us and have brought some great ideas and significant  improvements.  Thankfully, Brenda is in remission now.

We appreciate all of our guests and try to provide them with  a comfortable visit and wonderful memories to take away with them.

Sincerely,

Brenda and Randy Ziegler
